Forest green & midnight blue dress

Last week I had a pretty bad back pain and almost
whole week I was in bed. While I was having lunch,
I saw a Spotlight Easter Sale ad on tv and that day
was the last day of sale. After lunch I dressed up and told
to my husband I'm going to Spotlight. (Because I had seen
some fabrics at Spotlight a few weeks ago and I was afraid
that during the sale, the fabric would be gone). My husband
exclaimed, "Are you crazy? Before lunch you were
immobilized now a totally healthy person go to shopping.
Have you really got back pain?" Although I had still in
pain, stubbornly I went to Spotlight and got this beautiful
forest green and midnight blue crepe fabric. I used my
simple dress pattern but played around a little bit. I think
it was worth the physical suffering for this fabulous dress.

Why Beauty Matters - BBC Documentary
Roger Scruton raised an interesting issue which
I have been upset about lately. It is worth watching.

My Mondrian jersey dress

Piet Mondrian "Composition II in Red" 1930.

"Mondrian" Day dress 1965, Yves Saint Laurent
inspired by Piet Modrian.

Prada 2011 RTW inspired by Saint Laurent
and Piet Mondrian.
I like the Mondrian colour block and always
wanted to have a dress with Mondrian canvas.
Yet I haven't got opportunity to own it until now.
Recently, I found this orange Mondrian jersey at
Tessuti and bought this Fendi Fall 2011 shoes. I thought
the shoes match well with the Mondrian dress. I want to
say thank you to Tessuti, which gave me this chance.
I have made a few mistakes while making this dress.
The important thing is if you make the Mondrian dress
with sleeves you should buy a plenty of fabrics to
match the bodice and sleeves print.

Grey and Red

I introduced my perfect red pumps on previous
post. The magic thing is when I wear this red
pumps I feel sexy and happy. So I made this silverish grey top and pants
for my red pump. I used McCall'sM6403 as the pattern
for the pants. Fabrics from Tessuti, belt from
Scanlan & Theodore.
